The issue of improving the efficiency of public administration has always been one of the main and urgent issues facing the state. This article is also on the same topic, it contains the origin, history, meaning and definition of the term efficiency, the importance of efficiency in public administration, its types, levels and directions of efficiency assessment, the views of Eastern and Western statesmen and politicians on the same issue. a number of issues, such as various conceptual models of management effectiveness assessment in world practice, were touched upon.
